You roam around with the happiest bunch,
Spend hours with different people making the silliest of jokes,
From the entrance to the classroom,
You meet people every time, you have multiple conversations,
And you want to have these conversations because you crave the interaction.
But suddenly the interaction seems too tiring,
A few words amongst people feel like too much effort,
You don’t have any reaction to their stories,
You feel guilty because they are always ready to listen to you but you just can’t right now,
You want to lend an ear to them because they have been there for you,
But you find yourself missing the energy to digest all the information,
You want to spend time with them living the college life, you don’t feel like going home either,
Staying alone in your room in front of a laptop screen doesn’t sound appealing so you choose the better of the two and you stay around,
But you are silent, probably looking at your phone, zoning out or just silent,
Your leg starts shaking up and down because you aren’t paying attention to the ongoing conversation,
Instead, you are thinking about different scenarios,
You don’t want to go home, you want to continue socialising,
You use your social energy for a few people and you don’t need it with a few because it is that easy to talk to them,
You crave the interaction but sometimes you think that being alone might just make things easier…
